39-year-old Elias Huizar, a former Yakima police officer, is facing a slew of charges including being accused of raping a 16-year-old girl on February 3rd after a night of drinking.
According to court documents filed by the Benton County Prosecutors Office, she’s not the only minor he’s had illegal sexual relations with.
The City of Yakima says Huizar hasn’t been employed with the Yakima Police Department since February of 2022, but court documents say while he was employed with the department, he worked as a school resource officer at a middle school, where he met his first victim - although documents don’t say if anything inappropriate happened at the time.
Later, according to court documents, Huizar reconnected with the girl, getting her pregnant at 15-years-old and she went on to have the baby at 16. Documents indicate she told investigators they stayed together as a couple after having their child.
Court documents say on February 2nd, 2024, Huizar and his now 17-year-old girlfriend invited her 16-year-old friend over. The three of them began drinking together and the two girls fell asleep after the 16-year-old friend became sick.
Eventually, documents say Huizar’s 17-year-old girlfriend woke up to him sexually assaulting her friend and an argument broke out before they left the home in his truck - but he followed them until they contacted deputies who happened to be nearby and went back to the home.
Police say once they arrived at his house, he refused to cooperate and the SWAT team had to be called to arrest him. Court documents say it took around 2 hours to get him in custody and when they went inside the home, it appeared he was trying to clean the evidence left behind.
And this is where it ends:
Ex-officer accused of killing ex-wife and girlfriend killed himself after chase, and his missing son is safe, police say
A former school resource officer in Washington state accused of killing his ex-wife and his girlfriend and kidnapping his 1-year-old son died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a vehicle chase by police in Oregon on Tuesday – and the child is safe in police care – authorities said.
Oregon State Police troopers began pursuing Elias Huizar after they saw a car he was driving on Interstate 5 near Eugene, Oregon, around 2:40 p.m. local time, Oregon State Police Capt. Kyle Kennedy said.
“There was a minor collision (on the highway), and the suspect vehicle lost control. There was an exchange of gunfire at this location before the suspect vehicle fled again … on the interstate,” Kennedy said. No one is known to be injured from that gunfire, he said.
Huizar’s vehicle eventually crashed into another vehicle, spun into a median and became immobile, Kennedy said.
“As troopers contacted the suspect vehicle, the suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” Kennedy said.
His one year old son was in the car.
The ex-wife, Amber Marie Rodriguez was shot Monday outside William Wiley Elementary School, and Huizar eventually was charged in her death, Benton County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Eisinger said in a news conference Tuesday. Huizar’s ex-wife is listed as a paraeducator at the elementary school, according to a staff directory.
A second homicide victim was found Monday inside Huizar’s home while authorities were carrying out a search warrant, West Richmond police said. The second victim was a known associate of the suspect, police said, without naming the person or further elaborating.
In an Amber Alert issued for the child, the Washington State Patrol said Huizar was suspected of killing “his ex-wife and girlfriend.”
Is this the Amber Alert I got yesterday? Holy shit. I’m glad the kid is OK.
I had the same thought, and yeah, it was.
It gets worse - he had two children with his ex-wife, one of whom watched him murder her.
Holy shit. Buried the lede in the comments.
