demonstrate animosity towards those of conservative beliefs? Would this not be considered somewhat hypocritical?

This is the tolerance paradox. If society is tolerant of intolerant beliefs then intolerant beliefs can corrupt society to become intolerant.

**To remind users of the rules in Extremely Polite Politics:

Rule Reminder: All posts and comments must be written in extremely polite, formal language, akin to 1800s etiquette. No Modern Slang or Cuss Words. Respectful Insults are allowed, but they must be expressed in the most respectful and formal manner. Enforcement: Accumulate 3 infractions for rule violations to face a temporary ban.**

This has not actually happened anywhere, though.

The US has become more tolerant in terms of race without ever having hate speech laws, while Europe has a burgeoning far right and scandalously restrictive hate speech laws.

I daresay, my dear fellow, that this notion of a tolerance paradox is nothing short of utter codswallop! If we permit the proliferation of intolerant ideologies, why, it’s akin to inviting a den of thieves into our midst! They shall pilfer our very souls, and leave naught but ruin in their wake!

Fiddlesticks to understanding their perspective, I say! When scoundrels peddle hatred and bigotry, one mustn’t bother with such frivolities. 'Tis akin to attempting to reason with a blithering idiot! One might as well converse with a mule about the finer points of etiquette!

Now, pray tell, dear chap, what manner of foolhardiness is this, tolerating such rot? Bah! We shall end up with a society as putrid as last week’s fish market! Mark my words, young whippersnapper!

And another thing, what’s all this folderol about perspectives and understanding? Horsefeathers! When confronted with bilge water, one doesn’t waste time sipping tea and making small talk. One calls it out for the fetid rubbish it is!
