        1. Fascination with How Things Work: I’ve always been obsessed with understanding the mechanics behind everyday objects and complex machines.

        2. Problem-Solving: I love the challenge of solving intricate problems and coming up with innovative solutions.

        3. Impactful Career: Mechanical engineering offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the world, from improving energy efficiency to designing life-saving medical devices.

Top 5? Jesus, I haven’t had my coffee yet lol hope this helps.

What about you? Your top 3 ?

          Wow, great explanation and write-up!

Disclaimer: The program offered in school has a specialization in Astronautics.

Quick reply, my attempt at writing up a top 3:

          1. Learning: I grew up watching and learning about as many subjects as I could discover. Some of my favorites that I stumbled upon involved NASA and space.

          2. Thinkering: I would try to take things apart so as to tinker and rebuild. I failed, but I keep trying while also making use of parts to create something new.

          3. Future: Watching Cosmos and similar programs encouraged me to try to be involved with getting humans to explore and land on other planets. This made me interested in joining amateur clubs and organizations so as to meet like-minded people.

    My 10th grade physics teacher.

The way he explained things made me realize that the world had rules that could be used predict how things worked.

This blew my mind. I wanted to do something about it. I researched until I figured out mechanical engineering made the most sense to me.

The best part of my job is the initial stages of a project. You usually get together with your coworkers and brainstorm/bullshit for a couple hours throwing ideas around and shooting them down.

Also prototyping is really fun. 3D printers have made it super quick to generate a bunch of prototypes and figure out what works, what needs work, and what isn’t with thinking about anymore.

It was my 11th grade physics teacher and the fact that my highschool had a CAD class as well. I loved them both.

We had CAD too, but it was AutoCAD so not exactly inspiring. Still, we did that thing where they give you weird geometric blocks and have you to do 3-view and isometric drawings. Very fun stuff.
