Before you read:

I don’t know what’s going on with hillarious chaos? I have recently been hearing some jabbering and rumors. I am just asking questions here. Take everything said here with a microscopic grain of salt.

So I have been here for a few days; I joined on 19th of November. I first struggled to find we communities I used to lurk in like dbzero and linuxmemes this was no biggie so I moved on from it and decided to hang out in the local communities which I got bored pretty quickly due to lack of posts. I returned to lemmy.world for browsing. I was curious as to why many instances have defederated from hilarious chaos. So I searched it up and found some things I don’t have evidence to prove any of this remember that. Source: https://gui.fediseer.com/instances/detail/hilariouschaos.com

This could have happened due to misunderstandings or moderation issue idk

What’s the deal here people are saying stuff without evidence and the evidence they do provide doesn’t really prove much. I am not very knowledgeable in politics (right/left stuff) as I am not an American. But this is very concerning interms of reputation of HC. This is not even limited to Lemmy, Other Lemmy/kbin adjacent stuff like piefed.social also blocks HC instance and compares it to hexbear and exploding heads. Source: https://lemmy.world/post/22241465 Nothing is transparent everything is heresay I will be leaving hilariouschaos for now due to many red flags. I’ve sent some dms to the admins on matrix. If anyone related to HC sees this please explain what is going on? As of time of writing this lemmy.world hasn’t defederated from HC. Mods, can you give some answers?

At the start, HC had a handful of people join from the old exploding-heads.com instance, and that was enough for many people to label us “EH 2.0” and de-federate.

Ironically, the most excitable members in question have long left when they realized this was not “EH 2.0”. I’m also not American and had nothing to do with exploding-heads.

The idea behind HC was to have a laid back instance where we could post whatever and not worry about heavy handed ideological moderation. @Alice@hilariouschaos.com and I really don’t care what your politics are, and that’s the whole point.

That’s all there is to it, what you see is what you get. Anyone can just browse through our posts and make their own mind up. We also welcome everyone, irrespective of politics.

We have been around for almost a year now and I think we have been good neighbors. lemmy.world is still federated with us because there’s no reason why they wouldn’t be and they are thankfully mature and rational enough to take things at face value. I’d like for us to be federated with everyone else too, but I don’t think their minds can be changed.

Anyway, I see you have already deleted your account, but if you keep reading this thread then maybe this post helps clear things up for you. You are of course welcome to rejoin anytime if you want to.

I really appreciate this response and stance. Thank you both for this instance. I didn’t have any real issues on the other instance but I deleted my account there to come here exclusively. I lost some instances in defederation but that’s okay for the trade off of not having to worry about the instance not having my back if shit hits the wall.

I’m also glad with some of the instances that are defederated because I didn’t want to have to block those on my own. So it worked itself out in that way.
