I guess I am very intereted in transgenderism beacuse it has blown up the LGBTQ movement in general to me. I was sympathetic to the idea that indiviudal gays simply wanted legal protections and equality under the law, but it turns out that the most zany predictions from Christian conservatives were actually underestimations of where the LGBTQ movement was going.
If you told me in 2005 that the fight for civil unions and lifting the ban on gay soldiers was going to end with the fight to allow the transitioning of prepubascent children with healthy, non-intersex bodies… I would not have believed you. But here we are.
