Edges@lemmy.zip learned flash!
This is definitely something Americans have been really worried about for a long time. It’s not that it’s a cult or anything that adopts ridiculous ideas according to the whims of its leader.

It’s the perfect time!

Isn’t that crazy? The embodiment of less is more

Omg thanks for sharing. That is delightful.

Yeah I can definitely see how it would bring that to mind!!

Get 'em, John!

Resident Evil literally invented the term Survival Horror

I’m not sure what you mean, Silent Hill is going strong today

They definitely way over-shot. I read from that same article that their expectation was to sell 5 million copies, which would put them up there with established survival horror franchises from well-known publishers. That’s super big hopes in a saturated, niche marker. And then of course the game also was fair to middling at best.

The last picture is from a series called The Evil Within. I would definitely recommend it to fans of triple A horror games, but they only made 2 and probably only will ever make 2.

Right? And yet it seemed to me to have very little in common with Dead Space. I mean it is in space, and there are mutated enemies, but I don’t think that’s what made dead space dead space, at all. So… Yeah, it falls well short.

Silent Hill was obviously also an early entry, but they really struggled after SH4, and kinda… gave up. The remake was killer, though, and both F and Townfall look good to me (I haven’t had a chance to play them yet).
Did this actually have a measurable impact I wonder?

I don’t need further convincing of this

Oh no that got me thinking about the potential for silly things like Lisa bikini mod

Jealoussssss

More than 12 years after being cancelled, P.T. refuses to disappear. The long-lost Silent Hills demo still scare players to this day, and now someone is (unofficially) bringing Kojima/del Toro’s original PS4 game to PC.
A developer and modder known as Lorean The Gamer is reverse-engineering P.T. to build a native Windows PC port. Instead of recreating it from scratch, this version is being built from the original files, so doesn’t need a PlayStation 4 emulator to run.
Lorean is recreating the game’s logic and graphics system using C++ and Vulkan. However, players will need to provide the game data from their own copy of the PS4 release in order to play it. The project is reportedly 97% complete and can be played from beginning to end. It covers everything from the options screen to the end sequence.
I don’t want to
