Tons of cards have zero fees. Some offer rewards and benefits at no real cost. I have for nearly a decade used a card with 1% back on purchases and 1% back on payments. Running all my usual spending through that and then just paying it off has net me a lot of money in that time that I just use for statement credit.

It’s easy to dispute charges should I ever need to. Rare since I’m cautious anyways, but the extra layer before my actual bank account is nice.

It has also built up a hell of a credit rating for me as well.

Current social security taxes go straight to current social security stuff. Its a paygo system. It used to be something like 15 wage earners per current social security recipient, but as of when I last read up on it, that was down to 3 to 1 and continuing to slide towards the red.

The first social security recipient paid in like $15 before retiring and then collected like $20k or something before dying.

The bottom half of US wage-earners pay net zero in federal income taxes. The top 10% pay the obscene majority of it.

What I mean is it’s a safe bet that any random person whining about their federal tax dollars doesn’t actually pay much in, if any.
