Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What video essay did you watch recently that left an impression on you?English
11·14 hours agoThe one that I will probably never forget is Metropolis (2001): How Capitalism Produces Fascism by Chumpy.
It demonstrates and explains why authoritarians like Trump try to enrage the populace. That and it shows how capitalism inevitably creates fascism.
I probably won’t forget this till I bite the dust.

AMD@lemmy.zip•AMD vows to fight for gamers as DRAM shortage sends GPU prices skyrocketing — Radeon GPU prices have already surged over 10%English
21·1 day agoI’m skeptical whether AMD will commit to providing a reasonable prolonged price point for their GPUs.
Like
TechpowerupZhiye Liu from TomsHardware said, if AMD chooses to commit; they could use the current market as an opportunity to regain marketshare from NVIDIA as Jensen has definitely exited the market with their unreasonably priced cards.

Technology@lemmy.world•AI insiders seek to poison the data that feeds themEnglish
412·9 days agoIn addition to poisoning with bad data, I’d recommend adding logic gates where both recipient and sender tests each other in the definition and understanding of trust and consent which is a major thorn against the corporations, CEOs, and conservatives.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Has Canada's government done anything concrete to reduce dependence on the US since Trump took office? Maybe even since the first term?English
7·9 days agoI get it and I fully agree; Carney giving Trump the bird is obviously not the play to make.
At the same time, clapping for the attack on Venezuela and capturing Maduro. Like what the fuck. Was that really needed?
Why comment at all, giving praise was even foolhardy as internationally Canada looks to be on the wrong side of history.
Feigning ignorance or saying something on the lines of “My staff and I are currently looking into the implications of this rapidly changing situation.” would have honestly been better IMO.
Someone out there would have probably had better moves than Carney’s missteps.
Again I don’t disagree with your points, I just feel that Carney’s been making mistakes intentionally or accidentally one after another.

2·9 days agoChess and Among Us strats.
As the king becomes the fool and destroys his own castle, prioritize establishing relations with foreign nations built on the basis of historical reputation and long term trust.
When the fool asks "Hey how come you: brought Christmas fruitcake!? / didn’t reply or show up for my party!?
Malicious compliance and/or ignorance: "Sorry bro I:
- thought this was what you meant🤷♂️(🤪)"
- was busy but hope it was good👍"
This is the basics of what anyone could do, obviously there are better methods and plans out there.

69·9 days agoI would say that I and fellow Canadians are trying but for our government I’d say that Mark Carney is kowtowing and kissing Trump’s ring.
In a way I’m at least glad that we don’t have Pierre
PoilievreDipshit in charge because he would’ve already hung Canadians to die at the mercy of Trump. At the same time though, Mark Carney is a total loser🖕
I wish we had our own Zohran Mamdani leading Canada :/

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•'Worst in Show' CES products include AI refrigerators, AI companions and AI doorbellsEnglish
6·9 days agoFair point and for an $250 endoscope dildo having a wifi vulnerability is a terrifying reality.
I’m just imagining that with AI integration it’ll allow for even bigger attack surface vector.
I have a very hard time believing that sex toy manufacturers would actually take the time and effort in locking down the vulnerabilities that LLMs inherently carry.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is there a universal remote I can get that does not require stupid app sign up?English
182·21 days agoKDE Connect allows your phone to become a remote for Windows and Linux PCs.

We got Putin starring Caesar,
Grok starring Yes Man,
Trump starring Mr. House,
and most importantly you starring the legendary Courier.
