(I know alternatives, especially “truly” European are pretty much not existent, those 8 europeans still could’ve chosen one that’s respects their data a bit more than Google does if they don’t trust them I feel like)

Yea, the gems were buried really deep. Had a DSi and only got points worth 15€ back than and wasted most of it on shovel ware :/ My younger self just did not know whats good. I did however got Photo Dojo and WarioWare: Snapped! which are small but fun in the end I spent most of the time on Flipnote Studio (Free) anyways :). I am now revisiting the ones Ive missed. Did you know that the SteamWorld Series hat its debut on the DSi eShop!?!? I was really surprised by that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SteamWorld_Tower_Defense

Recently played the DSi Ware version. Can recommend it!

I know right! There a lot more examples like that I think they also made a web browser with a whole wifi receiver as well as extras RAM on the cartridge.
It kinda makes me want to create a list on wikipedia with all those extra chips on cartridges, it’s really cool.
Yea, i think it’s rather common. You could fix it by simply blowing inside, past the buttons. I always thought it be the Y2K version of blowing in the cartridge.
To actual fix it I just cleaned everything that was in the vicinity of the shoulder button as well looking like it could make some sort of electrical connection using IPA. However even though it got rid of the problem for a lot longer than the blowing technique, it still is slowly failing on me again i feel like. :(
I always jump up in excitement when I lay eyes upon a comment of yours. Just can’t wait to hear what fun and exciting story you are about to share.
Thank you for your service, keeping lemmy unscrapeable since 2025. o7
Damn missed it again ;(
Yoo, the picture was actually taken while I was fixing the left trigger of the DSi myself :D

The insides of my Nintendo DSi.
Also: why are these cool pictures not on c/pics ?! You all are making the coolest pictures but do not share any. I mean me neither but let’s change that :)
I know this is super weird but, I kinda like seeing a buy button on stuff like “elementaryOS” or “Zorin OS”, its essentially just an donation, but I think especially for normal people its that extra “professionalism” which makes it look like another “normal” OS to consider, which it is.

There is also OWS which is EU funded and I think a lot more interesting as they do not have a business to run. From what I can tell it is a lot more transparent/active, you can already download data sets from here: https://openwebindex.eu/owler/our_datasets
Reading the headline in Tom Scotts voice :)

Chris Fitzpatrick would not approve.
Yea, but what if shareholders are listening in? Just engage and move on, it really is not that hard.
Trash is bad, but for me it’s that you would need to buy coffee in a special container, you can’t just go and buy the one you want as it has to be compatible with your fucking coffee machine?!?!?! fuck nestle

Honestly this is the kind of lazy i strive to be. Looks comfy as fuck.
One of the first paid ones was Crazy Machines a puzzle game where you have to solve rube goldberg machines, i must have been around 8. I only know about this now because I have only recently dusted off the old PC I was playing on. Its fun, I like that they always added a small backstory to every puzzle. The puzzles I have created were no real puzzles and I have just built what I felt like building. Definitely worth it (the newer ones not so much.)

Your welcome :) They do have direct links you can import there I think. Only did that with cmus myself though. Main station: https://bytefm.stream39.radiohost.de/bytefm-mainhq_mp3-320 and they also have an alternative station which only runs music, but im not sure what schedule it is following: https://bytefm.stream39.radiohost.de/bytefm-nurmusikhq_mp3-192
