Renault have an advantage that they’ve been making EVs for years (as have Nissan). A lot of the other “traditional” car companies either completely shunned EVs or released a token one which was largely not available and they didn’t want to sell to you. As such they are a way behind and/or have had to spend extra on R&D to catch up.
I don’t know if the 2CV will be any good, but it’s going to have to be exceptional to compete with the 5EV - and I’m not convinced that they will manage it
