Hundreds of trees have recently been killed, conveniently exposing multi-million dollar views.

This is a classic example of why fines are only meaningful if you’re poor. Scaled fines based on income or wealth or jail time is the only thing that will prevent this kind of thing.
Looks like there’s a need for some tree shaped & sized hoardings to be erected.
