I really don’t care about either of these men, but they seem like they’re having fun and nobody that matters seems to care that he wore a bald cap instead of shaving his head. In fact, it kinda seems like that’s the joke…

Being mad about this instead of Dave Coulier “dating” Alanis Morisette when he was in his 30s and she was 17 is like being mad at Obama about wearing a tan suit and not all the drone bombings or mass-deportations.

We’re bad at picking what to be pissed about.

Well you say that, but this Stamos guy is a fucking asshole, why didn’t he simply go rogue and shave his head and shutdown whatever production he is working on while his hair grows back, like those people working on it with him can take a few months without pay

It really did rain on my wedding day and I did not see the irony of the situation. We were inside so it really wasn’t a problem.

It was forecasted to rain on my wedding day and my wife nearly died, so I bought seven purple umbrellas and one big white umbrella so they could take pictures in the rain. It didn’t rain until after pictures. Is that irony?

Even our photos were inside because we got married in this sort of high-end mall that was on the courthouse square and had a giant ballroom at the top floor. We had the ceremony and reception there, and there was a very pretty fountain on the ground floor where we did the pictures.

My brother also got married in a ballroom. In Alabama. In view of the “First White House of the Confederacy.” We are not Southerners but his wife is. It was also a Gone With the Wind themed wedding. They claim they have no racial prejudices but after that, it was pretty hard to buy. And that was before the day my brother decided to post to everyone on Facebook that he would yell the N-word when he was alone in his car because it was transgressive. (But he doesn’t do it to be racist, he swears!)

Really looking forward to visiting him in Atlanta in a couple weeks. I haven’t seen him in 10 years and was hoping to keep it that way, but my mom is elderly and won’t take a plane and so I’m driving her. At least I’m going to be staying with friends instead of him.

Sorry, I needed to rant for a second.

This story took me for a ride. In a car. Where the driver was yelling the N-word. But it’s okay because it’s transgressive, even though I guess I don’t know what that means.

It means “I get to break the social contract since no one is around and I hate being constrained by rules.” He’s neurodivergent, so he’s not the most clued-in on social contracts in the first place, but that’s not an excuse. He’s just a very weird person in so many ways though. He did not just decide to be a vegan, he decided to be a vegan who also will not eat fat or oil, and not because of animals, because he thinks that’s how humans should eat if they want to live as long as possible. He also once (again, publicly on Facebook) talked about how he couldn’t understand why no one in his work zoom meeting thought it was funny when he showed off the REAL HUMAN SKULL he somehow owns because apparently it’s really funny to own, again, A HUMAN SKULL.

Playing Devil’s advocate, is he autistic? A lot of autistic guys tend to date younger and find them easier to relate with. She was 17 and he was like 30? guess it depends on the law. Kinda silly that only a few months or weeks later and he’s not “a creep”.

Has he done anything else after that?

edit: funny how Lemmy down votes me for this, yet cheers and jerks off to Johnny Depp and similar men, who are 60 and grooming teens and banging girls in their 20s.

I left Bluesky to read men’s takes on Lemmy: “child rape is equivalent to a brown suit, despite the child herself writing and speaking about the pain and agony of that relationship,” and “autism is the same as pedophilia.” Amazing takes, Lemmy. This is why no one likes your app - the users are actual human garbage.

“child rape is equivalent to a brown suit, despite the child herself writing and speaking about the pain and agony of that relationship,” and “autism is the same as pedophilia.”

Nobody said or implied either of those. For one thing, the bald cap was compared to the tan suit, and the child predation was compared to the carpet bombing. It takes an incredibly bad misreading to think they said that tan suits = child rape.

For another, an analogy doesn’t equate two concepts, it merely compares them. Hating this guy for the bald cap instead of the child predation is like hating Obama for the tan suit instead of the drone strikes, in that there are legitimate reasons to be upset with these people, and the reason provided isn’t one. That isn’t to say that anything that person A did is in any way equivalent to anything that person B did, only that situation A and situation B share a similarity in C.

And the person you replied to didn’t say that autism is the same as pedophilia, they said that people with autism often date younger than them. That isn’t making any statement about autism as a trait. Not that I agree with them, but you’re disagreeing with something they didn’t even say

I’m gonna give Stamos the benefit of the doubt as say maybe he needs the hair for work. No seriously. He’s an actor, their appearance and image are work relevant.

What did Dave think of it? None of us matter if Dave actually appreciated the (albeit minimal, noncommittal) gesture

I would like to point out that actors are usually contractually obligated to maintain a specific appearance. Stamos may literally have not been able to shave his head in solidarity, so while seemingly noncommittal I think there could be more to the gesture. As you say, Dave is the only authority on the matter either way.

Look at his hairline. He’s balding anyway so just gave it a try to see if he likes it. Made a PR campaign out of it, end of story
