PC Master Race@lemmy.world•Games that treat GOG customers as 2nd Class
37·5 days agoSince it’s missing from the OP, here’s the thread on GOG’s own forum where people report those issues, and with the Google doc attached to the opening post:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/games_that_treat_gog_customers_as_second_class_citizens_v2/post1
You could poke the author of the project to have it done. Remember to be polite though.

Added to “Fediverse bots”:

You sure you’re in the right community? Unsure how it fits an uncle jokes’ community, unless as meta. But you could also ask on either of the many fediverse communities around, or on !voyagerapp@lemmy.world

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•What DE (Desktop Environments) or graphical interfaces can be controlled with a gamepad?
3·7 days agoDirectly, not familiar with any (unless you’re willing to mess with SBC Android), but I would try using AntimicroX, a program to remap controller keys as keyboard keys and mouse commands, and then set it to auto-start.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•How to get non technical friends in the fediverse?
10·7 days agoFor the Instagram people, if they’re also using Threads, poke them to enable ActivityPub. Several medium/large instances defederate, but it’s an entry point for them.
Also, don’t be forceful and try not to pass a sense of superiority. Apply pressure when you see opportunities, such as if they complain of a platform, how a given alternative solves that, but know your boundaries. And all the while, be patient, for it could be a years-worth endeavor.

Lemmy.world Support@lemmy.world•Why does this community look empty when looking from other instances?
1·8 days agoAdditionally, someone in an external instance can pull older posts by searching their links in the search page, often even if you get the link from yet another instance. Same for comments.
Only caveat is if the original post is unreachable, e.g. if communications were blocked (“instance defederated”), DNS or firewall is misbehaving at instance level, the instance is dead, etc.
Also, boosting, a microblogging thing, allows spreading posts and comments further, though a bit more indirectly.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•What Piefed client in Android support community moderation and all types of notifications?
1·8 days agoNot familiar with moderation capabilities on PieFed, but something that can aid when moderating is having RSS tracking your communities. Even if the post gets deleted, if the RSS reader fetched the post in the time frame before that, it gets stored in your reader’s (preferably persistent) cache.
Great as a liminal image though, and maybe a crosspost candidate to !liminalspace@lemmy.world
