Barney? Is that you?
I literally ran into this last night trying to install Cachyos on my old surface. I was relieved when the wireless worked in the installer and so incredibly confused when it doesn’t now… I’m still trying to fix it lol.

ChocolateFrostedSugarBombs@lemmy.worldOPto Sysadmin@lemmy.world•How to stop a specific 3rd party app from updating via Microsoft Store?1·1 month agoCorrected my original post. I’ve also updated it to reflect that larger context as well as the content in the “…” menu option.
Selecting the “Cancel Download” within the “…” menu only stops the download for that instance. When the Store rechecks for updates, this will pop back up. There doesn’t seem to be a way to tell the Store to ignore updates for that product.
If there’s isn’t a way to disable specific updates, then I’m not sure what I would want to do as I also have PowerToys installed. That also get updated via this context and I like that streamline so I’d prefer not to turn off ALL 3rd party updates if you even can.
ChocolateFrostedSugarBombs@lemmy.worldOPto Sysadmin@lemmy.world•How to stop a specific 3rd party app from updating via Microsoft Store?1·1 month agoCorrect. I had mistakenly stated Windows Update and I meant the updates via the Microsoft Store. I’ve updated my post to correct that mistake and added some clarifications.

I found GPO settings for disabling Automatic Updates which doesn’t apply in this situation because I already have it disabled. Where are the GPO settings for 3rd Party?

The username defined on Pop was all lowercase and I was sending the username via MS RDP with a few upper case letters since that’s how it’s spelt for the actual Pop sign on user.
ChocolateFrostedSugarBombs@lemmy.worldOPto Pop!_OS (Linux)@lemmy.world•[Solved] [Help] RDP from Windows?English1·1 month agoIt’s the stock RDP settings built into Pop. I am passing authentication info from my Windows client to Pop which is the authentication info defined in Pop’s RDP settings (username and password). I’m manually defining the auth info on the Windows Client so it’s not passing in the default current login information.
I’ll see if the logs mention anything. It doesn’t look like there’s an application specific log for the RDP function in Pop so maybe it’s just under syslog or journal?

Dang…ok thanks. I’ll keep working on it and I’ll update in case I find a solution.

I updated the post with an image and expanded text. I did confirm that the time and timezone are consistent between the two devices.
Of course they are. Because now they can benefit from it by feeding the recordings to Galactus…err Gemini.
