I’m so interested to see the results from this QLD election. The Katter-abortion issue i’ve really seen as analogous to the USA’s much talked about ‘October Surprise’.

Hi!
Moderator from !perth@aussie.zone here.
Just been playing around using the spoiler tags as makeshift drop down lists in the sidebar for the Perth/WesternAustralia community, and noticed the ‘spoiler’ markdown formatting isn’t recognised in the ‘about’ page on the Sync app. :)
Ha, the experience scarred the whole family! I mean thats an achievement of sorts!
Well, i certainly have chicken salt on all kinds of potato cooked foods, roast veges, cheesies. And yesterday the meal that spurred the post was some pizza type things i’d put it on.
Nobody is putting chicken salt on their sushi, kebab or banh mi or the hundreds of other takeaway foods
Fair comp i cant imagine it’d work
Yeah, i suppose i was mainly thinking of some fried chicken with MSG to dip that was just awesome as the comparison, but you’re right its mainly used in cooking, whereas chicken salt is on top.
because it is too strong and dominates the fish flavour
Hadn’t clocked this. Don’t eat fish often, but when i do i’ll make sure to remember this, i instantly imagined that overpowering sensation of the chicken salt as you describe.
The Australia Institute was actually saying the increased demand in the last few years is less about population growth, as Ian Verender states in this article, and more about the drop in ‘persons per household’ phenomenon that happened during COVID.
Whats the issue for Labor here, are there really that many people in Aus that blindly side with Israel that its electorally suicidal to come out and say, ‘we’re with the rest of the world’? If so, then we should look at ourselves.
Sorry, and I don’t have advice. But I did, long ago. Had a grandparent with dementia. They were overseas so i never saw. My mum went over though. She said there were times when it was just like normal, and those were happy and the memories she cherishes.
I think i’m gona start using ‘scum goblin’.
You guys turn up to vote in Local Gov elections? I think most of ours are postal. I wonder if that means NSW turnout is better?
Thanks for tldr. I really didn’t want to read that.
Democracy dies in the dark; Redactions cast long shadows.
The interviewer seemed to have a line she was trying to follow, and Max Chandler-Mather wasn’t having a bar of it.
This article from David Spears, i think, explains Ferguson’s line of questioning. Basically the ABC have drawn an optics comparison between that and Tony Abbott’s ditch the witch protest speech. And yeah there is similarity.
In both cases though, was it worth the media being distracted over the signs and forgetting the issues at hand?
“The government is not for turning and nor is the Australian public — they want to see this industry cleaned up,” he said. (Aparently Albanese said this)
Do we have a Labor government or Thatcher?? Not sure whether putting the Construction part of the CFMEU into administration or not is the right decision. But aligning yourself with historic union busting figures? Albanese is insane to think this is good politics.
Good to here Max Chandler Mather out there again showing some solidarity.
I had to recheck what month it was when i saw this headline. This sounded like it had April fools written all over it.
Haha nice!
I’s over at !avatar@lemmy.world the other day, love your work!
I noticed the same fact and wondered about posting myself, but i had a quick and i know super basic question, where do you find those panelled cartoons?
Its shaping up to be a pretty bad day for Australian swimming based on the ABC article on the Olympic team coaches comments.
We need our government to step in and create a situation where we don’t need environmental vandals to prop up our sports.
Not sure i’m fully there with you on that one. Government seems to fund sports in general quite a lot, lots of other costs i’d rather them use any extra money on.
I think this is more a case of special interest associations like this need to think about the designs of their funding models if they want to avoid low levels of duress like this
knee deep snow
Um, snow here? Where was this centrelink? Up top of Mount Clifford?
Instead of snow, are you sure it wasn’t asbestos? Theres lots of that in certain places around here.
Go!
