I love Tubi. I like to write film reviews, and I use them to broaden my style. They also help me learn about the technical side of film. It’s easy for me to engage with the themes and tone of a film, but the craft of it is what elides me, so it’s been really fun getting to know that side of it through casual study.

Goth, Punk, Rockabilly And Alternative Lifestyles•I would like suggestions for Punk that are as scathing and hopeful as NOFX - The Decline

2·7 days agoYeah, I was just hoping to make a little playlist of bombastic and woefully hopeful tracks like that. I’m not really looking for brass as much as I’m looking for a plea wrapped in cynicism.

1·7 days agoI was hoping for specific tracks. I’ve heard almost all of these, but I’m looking for that specific feeling at the end of The Decline of being dreadfully hopeful that something can turn around, hopefully in our lifetime.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When I hear of bailout money being used by CEOs to give themselves bonuses, couldn't the government buy the debt and make sure the money is spent the right way?
1·10 days agoIs that what it’s supposed to be? I know nothing of this topic.

6·12 days agoAren’t government employees sometimes placed as overseers in certain types of settlements against corporations?

What does this mean? Is the last color you saw before becoming blind that color you see forever?
