Stepping aside is also their formal instructions based on their policy, which this individual would have known about as, supposedly, they are part of a longer standing division of this department, specifically meant for aggressive engagements.

Additionally, it may have recently been found that back in 2012 a report was created of maybe 60+ incidents of Customs and Border agents placing themselves in front of moving vehicles in order to create the circumstances to justify the use of force. This supposedly was when the policy was changed and officers were instructed on being officially forbidden from moving themselves in front of a moving vehicle, and from using force to stop a vehicle if the option to move out of the way exists.

I’ll start going back to find sources and update with them, anyone feel free to post them as well if you find what I’m referencing.

I’ve used one or more extensions for this purpose, but only on desktop and it was so short lived I don’t recall the names. I quickly shifted to using the Dev Tools as it didn’t require trusting an extension.

So, I guess one of the main focuses or concerns would be open source to help provide some slight reassurance regarding security and privacy.

Minimal permissions is also an aspect I look for when considering apps or extensions, if that matters for anyone else as well.

Otherwise, just having the option to download images from a page, which I suppose more specifically focuses on pages which don’t allow a long-press context window option; as I’d just do that if it was available.

I don’t really need bulk download options. For any such large datasets I’d use a desktop. But hopefully an extension available on mobile would save me from needing to screenshot a bunch of image text posts I can’t just download normally.

Not to create an argument, which isn’t my intent, as certainty there may be a thought such as, “scraping as it stands is good because of the simplification and ‘benefit’”. Which, sure, it’s easiest to wide net and absorb, to simply the concept, at least as I’m also understanding it.

Yet, maybe it is the process of scraping, and also absorbing into databases including AI, which is a worthwhile point of conversation. Maybe how we’ve been doing something isn’t the continued ‘best course’ for a situation.

Undeniably, more minutely monitoring what is scraped and stored creates large quantities, and large in scope, of questions and obstacles, but, maybe having that conversation is where things should go.

I kinda wrote off Germany recently due to political shifts occurring there.

But, if it’s somewhere you feel you can feel comfortable going, there are two options which may still be relevant. Maybe you already know about these, so apologies for taking your time if so, or maybe it helps someone else.

There is a language learning visa which allows you to stay for 12 months or so to learn German at an approved language school. There is a cost to this of course, and it’s in no way cheap. Pre-pandemic it was up to about 10k USD. This gets placed into a “blocked” account which proves you can support yourself for the time you’re supposed to be there. After this visa is completed, at least previously, you would need to leave the EU for 3 months before coming back (presumably to Germany) to apply for a “job searcher’s visa”.

Someone else may be able to correct or update some of that information.

Additionally, at the time, Germany provided an exception for IT Specialists, seeming to exempt those positions from the same long and difficult process of an employer ‘proving’ they couldn’t find an EU citizen for the position. But, one still needs to find an employer willing or interested in hiring them.

Someone else can also correct any of that if they find any outdated or incorrect details.

Yeah. I’m trying to find more about how the Linux VM on Android is setup, but idk if the Pixel 6a is able to run a GUI/window manager for that VM.

Well, the Linux VM on Android uses a loopback and does not work while a VPN is on. So it won’t route the VM through it as it just doesn’t open with a VPN on.

It will work from the Private Space, but then that doesn’t share a VPN connection so no VPN for the VM unless one is opened through the Private Space.

And this was just an experiment to see if the new CLI beta for ProtonVPN would work in the VM, as the OpenVPN config method for ProtonVPN does seem to work, but likely as it doesn’t depend on any GUI related actions or programs.

Would you be able to share why you wouldn’t recommend running a VPN in the VM on Android?

I’ve read that dual booting Windows and Linux can have temperamental quirks and I’ve had my share of them.

Now, if I’m doing that, Windows fs gets isolated and I refuse to even connect it to the internet. But, outside of a legacy automotive shop program meant for XP, I’ve not needed Windows for a couple years.

Those are very expensive machines, but certainly would be capable of the work. I’m not sure I can afford it.

NPUs are meant to offload specific tasks, those which CPUs do less well than GPUs, but while using less electricity than both. So far as manufacturers say.

That’s fair. I suppose I took their marketing statements for NPUs closer to face value than what feasibly works.

I was hoping for something entry level to work with/recreate/train smaller models to avoid additional investment in extra services. But, outside of simply running the apps the companies are pushing into their devices, and some other community ones, local maybe doesn’t have much use without massive hardware.

From what I’ve seen, AMD only has compiling models on Linux, Intel has some OpenVINO or something which allows usage of models. But I might be wrong.

Otherwise, NPU use seems limited to mostly Windows currently.

So, the machine physically CAN copy this type of key, you’re just not supposed to?

And, additionally, I wonder how it copies a key type if it doesn’t have the key template in it’s inventory.

Unless it either has those templates and just tells people to use the honor system, or it somehow copies keys in a way which somewhat disregards the specifics of templates?

Also, unless the manner in which it copies keys is capable of duplicating various security features, this wouldn’t work for say the more secure ‘Best Cormax’ key (which would give the shower access)?

Do you know if this includes the ‘Best Cormax’ type keys?

It’s the one that would provide the shower access, so hoping to find a solution for it.
