There are also recent examples of books like To Kill A Mockingbird being pulled out of high school ciricula due to antiquated attitudes towards race being depicted. I think these should have been kept and preserved as an example of outdated societal attitudes instead of being repressed.
Still weird for me to see him with eyes.
Bet you read that in some face smancy book
Already posted this in the earlier thread, but the image seems real. LeVar Burton advocates for this IRL:

“Offensive” is just a matter of perspective.
Offensive? Yeah. Hate speech? Nah.

That doesn’t exist. Though, luckily, in countries like Australia, it’s universal enough to put outspoken Nazis in prison.
I’ll take that over whatever the fuck is going on the the US.
Even if free speech is diminished a tiny bit. We all (most of us) love Nazis being in prison 👍👍
Again, what is the definition of Nazi that is universally recognized?
We don’t operate under a framework where everything needs to be 100% defined, else prosecuting/legislating would become unreasonably cumbersome to the point where it’d be so easy to find loopholes.
Whatever a jury of your peers determines is reasonable to define as hate speech, under guidance of the law. Here’s an example: https://www.ag.gov.au/national-security/publications/displaying-prohibited-symbols-offences
You’re trying so hard to justify that all speech should be tolerated, but it should not.
Look what they’re getting the the US, barely hidden Nazis in positions of power.
Fuck that.
What do you purpose doing about the Ukrainian Nazis in power?
There it is folks, we found a troll.
Honestly, I’m not terribly well-versed on the Ukraine situation, but you are not arguing in good faith, and just side-stepping it.
Protection from what?
Protection from consequences, probably. Gotta have that cake and eat it, too.
That was offensive. Silence yourself, please. Thanks.
Sarcasm? It’s hard to tell these days.
Yeah, I went a few layers there too.
Protection from children seeing the word gay.

Unfortunately, I think the parent commenter meant protection from something closer to losing your job for saying racist bullshit to your coworkers
Or protection from losing your job for calling out your coworkers, clients etc.:
- This is shit, the task is not done, it is going to take a few days to undo the mess you’ve made
- This is because I’m black! You racist pea
sce of garbage!
And
- Your “demands” are insane pile of contradictory statements, no can do
- You bad <position here>, I am calling my lawyer!
So yeah, some people only understand when you speak in plain swear language, and no, that can never mean “so I can badmouth anyone just because I feel like it”
You have quite the imagination. Are these coworkers in the room with you right now?
No, I do not work with idiots. But I do know them well enough: that kind of interactions are happening to other people, I can bet my life on it
You’re saying you just made this up lmao. Try to focus on the reality happening around you my man
