Just shoot him. Why waste an untold amount of money keeping him alive and fed until he dies. He’s unfit to participate in society ever again and it’s just going to cost money/resources that should be used in literally anything better just to keep him around.
I’m against the death penalty for those claiming innocence or where there is no concrete evidence (a slippery slope I know), but if they openly admit to doing it AND there is a mountain of evidence that corroborates his admitted crime I see no problem with the death penalty. Remove them from earth and move on.
The argument I subscribe to when it comes to the death penalty is that the cost of mistakenly executing one innocent person is not worth the risk. You make a very good point in regards to the fact that he admits to the crime. I defiantly see the benefits of this but also can see that this might carry unintentional risks such as people admitting to crimes when under duress (torture makes anyone admit to anything) etc.
You make a fair point. I have no solution to that situation.
But I also don’t like the resources being spent on someone who can never participate in society again anyway.
Idk.
