holy shit, i never realized that nestle is a swiss company. i wouldn’t ever have thought that one of the most horrible, evil companies in the world would come from one of its truly best countries. i’m flabbergasted.

It’s a major part of the Swiss economy. Agree Switzerland has some policies that other countries would do well to mimic, but beware of pedestals.

If base meals are free I don’t see an issue with selling small snacks. At least that’s how it was for me, ymmv

Mexico has a serious obesity and diabetes problem. Worse then the U.S. even, though only by a couple tenths a percent currently. Makes sense to try and rein it in.

Yeah but you can still offer healthy snacks, back in my school I could buy apples, bananas, other fruits in season. Sure, I would like that stuff to be free for kids, but in the meantime might as well sell it. If it’s really bad, you could set a limit of items per person.

Makes one wonder who thought it was a good idea to start serving food like that in schools in the first place. If the kids wont eat normal food then they’re not hungry.

My old elementary school had a deal with some distributor. Distributor put in a couple snack & soda machines & the school got a cut of the profit.

I just assume this is similar.
