“If you kill a killer the number of killers in the world is unchanged”
“So I should kill multiple killers”
“Hol’ up”
Thought they died from hubris so I wasn’t particularly sad.

Traditional Art@lemmy.world•Woman in scifi armor by Hajime SorayamaEnglish
281·17 hours agoThe individual boob plates always annoyed me on art like this. Like, I get it, horny… but in combat you want armor deflecting things away. Boob plates deflect inwards to the important blood pumping and air using bits, which does not lead to good outcomes.

On the “isn’t wet” side personally. My rationale: If a thing can be wet, it also can be dry. Your pants get wet, you dry them out. Can’t dry out water.

I think it was either Manhunt (Edit: Manhunt is XP/2000 only.) or Bully that couldn’t run on modern systems. Could also give Cold Zero or Swat 4 (Edit: N/M, not gonna work on 98. Maybe earlier ones?) a go, though I might be misremembering timeframes on one or more of these. Oh, and of course the original magic the gathering game (Edit: No sites to legally purchase it online but its from 1997 so prob a win98 game.) from the mid 90s.

Progressive Politics@lemmy.world•New York pension fund may invest in Israel despite Gaza genocide, defying Mamdani
202·6 days agoI don’t care about Mamdani getting treats for NYC residents…
Well he’s the mayor of NYC, not a senator or congressperson, so of course he’s going to help the city he’s mayor of. Also, again, we are talking about someone on his second week of being mayor. It should come as no surprise he hasn’t waved a magic wand and fixed every single thing he said he was going to fix. If this came up six months into his term then yeah, fair bone to pick, but right now it just sounds like you’re looking for shit to be mad about.
So far Mamdani has done nothing noteworthy…
I’d call that pretty fucking noteworthy.

Folks see this or Uhura/Chekov on Star Trek and completely lack the contextual understanding behind just how woke (For the time) it is.
