Google Messages’ sent text editing feature has now begun rolling out to beta users, indicating that stable rollout is around the corner.

    Now if Google could finally open RCS so other android apps have access, that would be great. People have only asked for 10+ years.

    Can it be turned off? This isn’t something I need, fast message transmission is.

    The feature only appears if both devices in the conversation have it.

    I always thought of SMS as a bit like regular mail. (i.e. the message handed to the network with some addressing label with no feedback for the sender)

    But this implies that there is some kind if handshake occurring between the devices, how does it really work?
