It doesn’t matter which instance I put in it just gives me a red X and an error. I noticed it wasn’t last updated until July 2023 does this app still even work anymore am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated thank you very much for your time.

Since the dev had twins last year they haven’t been able to update the app for the breaking changes in 0.19.
I would suggest changing to another app. I use Voyager and Thunder.
Liftoff has been abandoned since August and it is now incompatible with the new Lemmy version. At this point it is dead
