Yesterday I read in some comments that the single kbin dev plans to develop with different priorities than most users, and is (or was at that time) somewhat awol. Perhaps your issues stem from this.
I think there is also mbin, developed by someone else, might be worth checking that out
Mbin was started by an egotistical dev who jumped between numerous projects he was kicked out of before starting Mbin(Melroy, which coincidentally is why it’s named mbin). Best to avoid that one as well if you’re avoiding shakey leadership and behind the scenes drama.
You can literally check through Melroys comments and see every time he posted a giant rant about the current project he was on and why it’s doomed to fail because “no one listen to him” and a link to the new project he’s working on instead. Kbin, then his own instance, then Mbin. Pretty sure he claimed to be a “core Lemmy dev” at one point too. It’s all in his comment history. I’ve posted in a few of his threads detailing his history there as well.

Disclaimer: I use neither

Any evidence for any of this?
