Here is the video’s thumbnail.
I use an Extension called vidIQ to find and use the video thumbnail easily. The current thumbnail will be shown just below the video view count, on the right hand side on PC.
I can’t wait to see the cluster fuck that will be the Nashville hyperloop.
Edit: Assuming they can dig through all the rock that is under the city, I do think the hyperloop makes more sense the way they are doing it in Nashville than in Vegas. It goes in a straight line from the airport to downtown and back. Pretty simple.
In addition, it’s not like Vegas where there are already good alternatives to the hyperloop. Traffic in Nashville sucks and the roads suck and there isn’t a good public transportation system either. Walking or biking is not an option either.
If I could get from the airport to the convention center in 10 minutes, that would genuinely be a good service (right now it shows 30 minutes).
With that said, digging this tunnel will be a very interesting task.
The word is fraud.
The Nazi in charge of Tesla, X, and many other similar endeavors (that are at its essence just a way to defraud investors and rob customers) is commuting fraud.
Is the Boring Company pranking us?
No, the whole idea is just incredibly stupid but they want to make money. Investor money I guess, since the thing will never fucking work.
It wasn’t about the money. It was to convince the state they don’t need to invest in public transportation by knowingly proposing an alternative that would never properly materialize.
It was deliberately designed to prevent you from having nice things.
and to permanently fuck up the places you would have put public transit
It’s far from permanent. Just expensive.
California was this close to high speed rail from San Diego to San Francisco and I will never forget that Musk and the Boring Company are the reasons it didn’t happen
Um, duh?
I think the news is that it wasn’t maximally stupid already
I found this video to be very informative about the problems with vegas today
He mentions the tariffs putting foreign tourists off, but he doesn’t mention the daily news of people being abducted at airports and off the street, disappeared to some secret prison, and perhaps trafficked to some random oppressive country and abandoned. Or the ongoing MAGA persecution of LGBTQ+ people and oppression of women. All of those things are quite offputting too.
That is correct. He is talking about something other than that. Things that have been around before trumps purge. The problem with Vegas didn’t just appear when trump took office. What is happening now is making it worse but they have been losing people for over a decade. Things that predate the current situation. I guess it has to touch your personal points to be relevant.
Thinking about it how much is Mr. Monotone in your video talking about those issues?
The factors the guy in your video cites are all true and relevant, and I mentioned some others that he didn’t mention. I’m not contradicting. Also the fact that he talks about tariffs shows that he’s speaking from pretty up to date information.
Mr. Monotone as you call him is talking about issues with the Las Vegas Loop in particular, hence he didn’t mention all the other things about Las Vegas. You added some extra context. So did I. Not sure why you need to get so defensive.
Don’t confuse a response for a defense. I don’t understand why you brought trump and his antics up at all? I certainly didn’t add any context when I posted the video link. I only added ‘extra context’ in response to your off the subject comments about how the video I posted didn’t have the kitchen sink of topics covered.
I did that after your response detailing some imagined omissions from a video that was about Vegas and its decline. Not the orange tumor and his crimes.
The policies of the federal government are one of the reasons why Las Vegas, like the rest of the USA, is suffering decreased tourism. I thought it was relevant.
I thought it was way more relevant how the casinos had changed the rules of the games and had altered the odds too far in their favor. How they had raised prices on food and tacked on so many extra fees at their hotels that people had stopped coming. Sure trump had some effect but all in all they did it to themselves. Not every failure is the result of the current political climate. They priced themselves out of the market. There are far too many casinos for people to get ripped off at near their homes to bother going to a over priced desert. Everyone know that musks loop nonsense was to keep high speed rail from becoming a reality.
