  • I gotta say, I genuinely love this issue.

Like I’m a left leaning generic progressive white guy with a degree that includes a Sociology minor. This shit is so fascinating to me.

I don’t know many black people, personally. Maybe 10 humans I know (like… Might send a social media message to because we are casual acquaintances) are black. I live in a rural area. Two are vegan, but the rest do indeed love fried chicken. We joke, I’veasked. I mean fuck, So do I. What meat eater doesn’t? It’s such a bizarre stereotype from the start. I believe I’ve heard it has to do with slaves being given the wings and appendages of chicken? But I don’t know the veracity of that. Seems plausible?

    Anyways, this.

  • I didnt downvote ya there.

That was a quick Google result it might not be in that article. I just chose it because AP. There’s dozens of articles about conversations between Xi and Biden.

The discourse is generally “By 2025” “in 2027” and “before 2030”. Given the discourse and tension in the South China Sea, it looks very much like a “By 2025” situation. Just my bet. Ties into computational supremacy, embargos, TSMC, Taiwan reunification, and more.

  • It’s already underway.

China will attack Taiwan before Christmas. That’ll likely be the flashpoint. That’s been my two cents for over a year now.

    North/South Korea going at it.

North Korea supplying Russia arms to fight Ukraine.

US okaying more and more, blurring NATO lines. NATO is basically involved in the Russia Ukraine war.

China and India appear to be buying Russia oil/gas still, keeping their war machine afloat. Amongst other financial vestments.

Then we have Israel pummeling Palestine. Iran attacking Israel. NATO countries don’t agree about whether or not this is a genocide.

When China invades Taiwan, TSMC will shut down their facilities. The US has been pouring billions into semiconductor manufacturing on US soil, because when China invades Taiwan and tscm shuts down, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, Nvidia, AMD, Intel, IBM, Meta, Amazon, and many more will be in hot water. Because of this, the US has an insane naval presence and alliance with Japan to protect the South China seas.

This is world war three. It’s happening now.

  • Not experienced? Don’t bite off more than you can chew unless you’re at least “athletic.”

You don’t need much to hike.

A water bottle. Plenty of water. Food is less important just have sustenance. Nuts, a couple protein bars… But man a backpack with a bladder/hose is nice. But also, consider weight.

Hiking shoes help, running shoes are totally fine. Skate shoes/chuck Taylor’s/work boots will cause issues over long distances.

If it’s hot, and over 10 miles, I recommend bringing a change of clothes. But again, consider weight/distance/experience.

Pace yourself. And pace your friends in your group. And speak up. Start slower than any of you feel makes sense. Get in gear. Find your pace together. Never start fast. If you’re not alone, my rule of thumb is everyone should be able to have a good laugh without needing to stop. When In alone I go “slow enough I’ll never have to stop”. So don’t push, unless like, that’s the goal.

Stretch often. Before, during, and after.

Lastly, if you’re getting winded, two tips:

    1. Use your whole lungs. When people hyperventilate, they rarely use all of their lungs capacity. If you feel that “out of breath” feeling getting difficult, breathe “through your lungs. In thirds.”

By this I mean full inhale, exhale about 1/3. Inhale a bit, exhale down to about 1/3 remaining, inhale a bit, exhale to 0. Repeat. This will oxygenate your blood a lot better than staying up in that top 1/3, as we instinctually do.

    1. Hands locked on top of your head. Elbows out. Relax your shoulders. Your lungs now do not have to lift your shoulders to get a full inhale. This will help you recover faster.

That’s it. Start hydrated. Finish hydrated. Stretch. Go slow. Breathe. Hiking is easy.

  • The the DNA brick wall we’ve been climbing is exactly that.

You’ve reminded me of some of my favorite hip hop lyrics of all time. If you never heard Eyedea before he died (27 club, I think?), Eyedea had Eminem level potential. Fucking incredible lyricist. If this tickles your fancy, go peep the album First Born.

Eyedea & Abilities - Man vs Ape

    Move!

There’s no telling what I’ma do

I’m eighty-thousand years of natural selection comin through

You ain’t got as much aggression, possessions, weapons

I’ll be damned if I get outdone by the next man

If you’re beliefs are different than mine, then we gonna fight

Who needs peace when you can profit from being right?

I hold picket signs outside abortion clinic doors

Take what I want with force

And my God could kill yours

    .

Involved with a species evolving so slowly

    Genetically infantile, violent and holy

We think we’re so smart but there’s not much to know

Caveman is still alive behind those robot eyes

Fully controlled by ten thousand year old instincts

Hands on the war button, flinch and your world’s extinct

This is technology for the barbarian

I see the future: the past, we’ll be there again

    .

Remember, the atom bomb came from the same place as poetry

    .

Die dirty hippy commie scum, Christian, Muslim Buddhist, Jew

    Democrat, factory-workin, college student you…

My nervous system don’t take no bullshit

Been dominating since the day I touched the monolith

I only breed with sex-symbol worthy women

They stay at home and cook while I go out a make a living

Don’t challenge my ego, don’t step on my shoe

Otherwise the next wake that you attend might be for you

    .

Grindin’ my teeth as I’m battling uphill

The fight against ape-hood is fate versus free will

We think we’re advanced but there’s nowhere to go

Mammals stay captive to animal actions

So slowly we climb up this DNA brick wall

Addicted to emptiness, anger and pitfalls

Desire for space, territory, or lust

We’ll eventually turn this whole planet to dust

    .

There can be no peace when man is still a part of it

    .

    Purpose, perseverance, wordless amoeba surface

To lead the first coherent paleolithic circus

Specific neuro-circuits link man and Neanderthal

    However, recent bio-chemical imprints

    conflict with primitive urges

    It’s full blown ontological warfare

Murdering memories in the future two million years

Peace is a word we often say,

But it can’t exist as long as the ape is here to stay

  • It’s cool when people value themselves on popular opinion. And internet points.

Deffo not a sign of an ego issue. You’re good.

Homie still here talking trash about his own illiteracy when plenty of folks were literate enough to get it. Keep it up, it’s a dope look.

Best of luck. Also, definitely respond to prove my point. That’d be neato.
