An list of potential memes: https://feddit.org/post/2379333/1722394
A meme posted to !fediverselore@lemmy.ca : https://feddit.org/post/2421485
@Emperor@feddit.uk already expressed interest.
For me, there are a few pros and cons.
Pros:
- Memes are an easy way to convey a message
- Fediverse-specific content is always nice
Cons
- Memes communities tend to be very popular
- Due to the topic of the community, there might be some heated debates and discussions in the comments (the example above with the vegan cat food is a good example). That might be quite time-consuming to follow and moderate
Based on this, I think we would need probably at least 5 mods to make sure the community stays sufficiently moderated.
Are any of you interested?
I’d be willing to help, but I’d like to know you’re logic for such a niche community needing 5 mods? I can’t imagine such a community would get more traffic than, say, !yurimemes@lemmy.blahaj.zone and I wouldn’t call that community under-moderated.
Thank you!
Better safe than sorry to be honest, it might be niche but it might have a wide audience due to the topic.
Seems like you have a feddit.uk account, so that might be where we host it.
@recursive_recursion@programming.dev would you be okay to open a feddit.uk alt to mod? Reports don’t federate properly at the moment
Here we go, feel free to comment on the first post and I’ll appoint you as mod: fedimemes@feddit.uk
