To be fair there are a lot of Russian trolls.

True. I wasn’t suggesting they don’t exist. I’ve just seen lots of users respond to any contradiction or criticism by immediately accusing the other person of being a bot or troll or whatever. Like an international plot to suppress their ideas is the only possible explanation for disagreement.

Tale as old as the Internet. Back when Slashdot was relevant, someone accused me of being a telecom industry plant because I said the IPv6 rollout was being fucked up. Apparently on the basis that ISPs were set to make buckets of money by charging for IPv4 addresses. When I mentioned the conversation to a netadmin friend of mine, he thought the idea was stupid as fuck. Because it is.

Over 20 years later, Google is just about to hit 50% IPv6 traffic. I don’t consider that a success.

Is it satire if it’s true? We’ve literally seen dozen of articles about the Russian government investing in exactly this kind of discourse.

You’re making the OP’s point for them, unless you also call people who agree with you Russian trolls.

I haven’t seen too much of this except with people acting like Russian trolls.

If you believe and repeat propaganda, you also spread propaganda.

a lot of propaganda is true… what makes it propaganda is using it to advance a goal.
