The Borderline Dance team was set to perform, but were essentially told they weren't welcome by the LGBTQ+ event organizer because of their matching American flag themed shirts.
No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

People are simply expressing their patriotism and love of country by wearing an article of clothing that happens to be red, white, and blue with stars and stripes. Flag code isn’t law. Also they didn’t use a flag for clothing. No flags were harmed in the making of their outfits.
