Boardgame movies is the weirdest trend.
I just can’t wait for margot Robbie to star in Sorry!: The Movie
I wouldn’t mind seeing her in Cards Against Humanity.
I liked Clue!
Excellent point, you got me there.
What else is there? I’m blanking and not recognizing much from searching “boardgame movie”. I thought of jumanji and zathura, but I don’t beleive that’s the kind you’re talking about. I never got around to watching Battleship. I saw Clue mentioned above but didn’t see either adaptation, however I would consider Knives Out as a session of Clue. I can certainly name multiple video game and toy movies where I do kinda enjoy the premise of their lives having rules set by the game rules, like watching an ant colony.
If you watch any board game movie, watch Clue.
Well, it’s on the list now. The 1985 movie?
Yeah. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a super good movie. But it is a ton of fun and has the second funniest slapstick moment I have ever seen.
Battleship!
Is it gonna be some kind of subversion where a sentient Thimble owns everything on the planet and charges everyone preposterously high rent until everyone but the Thimble starves to death and the Thimble realizes it actually has no wealth whatsoever?
Or is it just gonna be like Battleship where it becomes about aliens for some reason?
I hope it’s not another Battleship, but I have a strong feeling it’s gonna be another Battleship.
The first one, but not a sentient thimble. I believe those pieces are intended to represent industries.

They are going to get jumanjied aren’t they?
Margot Robbie will pay for her success with the Barbie movie by being made to create endless toy/game movie adaptations with various levels of relevance to the movie format.
Is it going to be four hours long and piss everyone off?
As a board game fan, I hate monopoly and hasbro in general for ruining countless people’s idea of what board games can be and never ever bothering to innovate or create games that are actually good quality games.
I grew up thinking board games were boring and basically just for kids because of how awful games like monopoly are.
