The Main Man is my all time favorite comic book character, and i have been wanting this FOR SO LONG. I am a bit bummed out he isn’t getting his own movie, particularly with how successful other anti-hero movies have been, but I’ve got my fingers crossed this will lead to bigger things.

Seeding somewhat lesser-known characters into movies with more well-known one is a great way to get them exposed to a broader audience and do some testing before deciding to roll out a whole movie.

If folks think he’s cool and he proves popular, I could definitely see a standalone. Although Gunn seems to be focusing overall on completed scripts more than anything, so thank god for that.

That said, always loved Lobo. Could also see him popping up in multiple movies instead, first.

that’s legit a perfect role for him, but I hope this trend of reusing actors within the same universe does not continue.

It’s not reusing actors in the same universe. DC is completely resetting with James Gunn’s movies. It’s not much different than Chris Evans playing Johnny Storm and then later being cast as Steve Rogers in the MCU.

Technically this is the first time ever a DC shared universe has reset. If you count all the different Marvel universes prior to the MCU, they were reset quite often as well.

I assumed they were talking about the comics, which tend to reset the timeline every decade or so. This is contrasted with Marvel comic’s floating timeline, which hasn’t really reset all that much.

Momoa can do egotistical pretty, but I haven’t seen him do outrageous and bombastic boastful, which is what I’ve always seen Lobo portrayed as.

Did you see him in Fast X? I think it shows a little of the ‘bombastic boastful’ side.

And you’re right, he does egotistical quite well.

I think for me, it’s just seeing him in multiple parts over the years, as well as how he behaves in general both in film and as himself, which gives the sensation that he would be great in the part.

I really think he can pull it off
