I took a nap after I got off work today because I had to head in at 5am today. I had a dream where I was traversing an ever burning field where werewolves lived in the not burning parts. I even conversed and broke bread with them. They even had cook fires. Like why do you need a cook fire your home is literally always on fire

And like what an absurd concept that is. How did my brain even come up with that? Dreams like that are why I don’t believe that dreams have any real meaning.

I’ve gotten so used to having bizarre dreams that they barely register anymore. But every once in a while I’ll wake up and go, where the hell did THAT come from?

I once had a dream where my friends and I were fighting an evil, British AT-AT while we were stuck in a time loop. I could only defeat the AT-AT and break the time loop by sacrificing myself while also having all of my friends alive by the end of the dungeon.

Oh and important inclusion, the AT-AT had a handlebar mustache.

Man, I’ve had so many dreams that were bloody fantastic that I can’t even remember them all. I keep notes and turn some of them into stories eventually.

Like, in one dream, I was two brothers, flipping between their viewpoints. They had inherited a farm from their aunt, Alice. Under the barn was a stairway into the earth, where they found a tunnel stretching into what seemed like infinity, lined with doors. Each door led to another world.

They had to use pages out of what was their aunt’s diary to find their way around, trying to locate her because there was indication she wasn’t actually dead.

And that’s one of the least surreal.

I rarely remember my dreams. But every once in a while, my brain finishes its standard defrag cycle early and goes “ok, you ready to see some shit?”

Some have recurring settings, and while in the dream I recognize the setting as a place I’ve been before and remember how to navigate it. Yet I don’t think I’m lucid dreaming. I don’t have control over the plot.

That kinda sounds an awful lot like the game Brothers: Two Sons. Fantastic puzzle game if you’ve never played it.

I really should keep a dream journal. I’d love to go back and review some of the wildest ones.

    Um…

I recently had a dream Bobby Flay was at some of convention showing off mice. They are supposedly special for whatever reason. He told me to take them back to my trailer park home (note, I never lived in a trailer park or even spent a night in a mobile home).

I took them home and they escaped. I had a hard time finding them and they slowly grew to cat sized baby hippos. At first I was scared but I eventually worked up the courage to grab one. It was slimey and a little cold. They were cute though and they liked belly rubs.

Only time I’ve wondered that was on Chantix. My god, it was like going to a horror movie every night. A horror movie I loved! Really made me wary of my own brain.

I had a dream to protect the prince of Siam… except I didn’t even know where I heard the term Siam before (I know what it means now).

Siam’s gonna be the witness to the ultimate test of cerebral fitness.

This grips me more than would a muddy old river or reclining Buddha

That kinda sounds like part of a book I read this year. “The Will of the Many” by James Islington. There’s a part where there’s an ancient maze that the MC controls with a gauntlet and he has to make it through, lest he gets torn apart by unknowable monsters.

That sounds so horrible even the name. I’ve had this dream in different locations too I’m not remembering. Every time it’s horrible

I’ve had this bizarre waking dream since elementary or middle school that feels like I can see floating rocks banging into each other and it makes my body feel some very particular but indescribable way. And somehow I can remember where it started even though it’s super meaningless.
