That there is no perfect defense. There is no protection. Being alive means being exposed; it’s the nature of life to be hazardous—it’s the stuff of living.
Interesting.
Looking forward to the update, this is a much needed feature if you post a lot, since image scrapping simply doesn’t work.
Cheers!
Is this possible to do on the webUI?
A lot of sites aren’t properly scrapped for the heading image, but I can’t seem to set a custom one when using the default webUI.
That’s what I do too, I find it’s helpful to separate topics by accounts.
A multi community feature would surely be helpful for some people though.
Started a new specialized community focused on monitors on lemme.ee to avoid centralisation with LW.
It’s going fine for a new community.
Cheers! Will crosspost Linux hardware topics, they do come up somewhat regularly.
I’ve been trying to grow the lemmy.world/c/hardware over past 2 months. The lemmy.ml version of this instance has for more subs, but has relatively low activity considering their size.
I decided to start a new community because I am not ok with the management behind lemmy.ml (I have very good reasons for this).
So far, sub growth has been going ok, but it’s mostly me posting, although comment engagements are decent.
That being said, this is not a niche topic.
Cheers!
Could please share the article from the screenshot? The one where he says he wants to paywall r/asshole design?
So basically anything goes in terms of content…
EDIT: The reference to assholedesign is a joke, the first part is legite (that they are generally considering paywalled subs).
Other than OF-style content, what exactly are they planning to paywall?
So did Harris’ campaign open a mastadon account (this shouldn’t be all that difficult or costly) following this initiative?
I am not the from the US, just curious. More official government accounts on Mastadon is good thing.
I did recently notice that I could follow some people on Threads on one of my Mastadon account, that’s a good thing too.
Don’t think we are getting an official desktop mode any time soon, ChromeOS is Google’s laptop/desktop operating system.
ChromeOS ran Android apps relatively well when I last tried this a few years ago. Most apps were clearly not designed for desktop UI/UX. Many didn’t work all that well as tablet apps either.
Interesting concept, will need to check it out sometime.
A very reasonable assumption, although I think they will provide these features for at least 12 months for new devices.
I personally wouldn’t expect massive innovation.
Smartphones have been around for ~20 years, it’s a very mature product category.
“AI” tech does have potential in the smartphone space, but I thing the useful use cases are going to overshadowed by the hype.
I would suggest trying to get out of the english-language (American-centric) internet bubble with respect to dialogue, “challenging beliefs” and the broader nature of what you consider to be censorship.
Focus on real-world (internet can be a red hearing) examples of cases (particularly in Asia, Africa but Europe and LATAM too) that contradict your statements around “just ban anyone who threatens their bubble”.
Then consider the what are the real world consequences of tankie propaganda, again better to avoid US narratives/examples. Just try a good faith approach to this question.
Cheers.
Yeah, I am aware they launched.
I am sticking to the my !hardware@lemmy.world instance, sub and engagement growth is decent and it’s a topic of interest for me. :)
