  • Can’t say it’s the best but a really good one is Sir Arne’s Treasure. Its a silent film (which is a misnomer because they were always accompanied by live music back in the day). But it’s beautifully shot.

There is some very incredible work in films leading up until the introduction of recorded audio which basically threw cinematography back a good 40 years in development due to the noise they created and how actors had to be blocked to just record their dialog.

  • No, it’s not a social construct, it’s a description of things that are consumed for nutritional value. Sure, “food” is a social construct in that it’s an English Language word used to describe said items, but every single life form consumes some form of food, regardless of said life form’s society (or more often lack thereof).

Also there are literally objective things innate to certain objects that make them food so you’re entire initial premise is idiotic.

  • Agreed, I don’t get the argument for using Linux beyond vague “windows bad” hand waving. Frankly, having to use computers probably every hour of my waking life for work and entertainment, I find nothing wrong with windows, or Mac OS. Or iOS or iPad OS beyond just the idiosyncratic annoyances each OS brings to the table. Is there any tangible reason Linux is superior to all the other OSs out there beyond it being open source? Also how is being open spurce objectively a benefit?

  • Work in excess of 40 hrs per week is generally guaranteed overtime pay so that so called company you supposedly work for is really doing itself dirty if its requiring its employees to put in such hours.

I’m more inclined to assume you’re just a troll doing some soft propaganda so not really interested in any further conversation—but if you’re a real person and you really do work for a company that’s just gonna start requiring working over 40 hrs a week id suggest reporting the company to your state’s department of labor and finding a new place to work.
