Agree. That is such an america centric view. Why would italians give enough fucks about DOGE to burn a Tesla store about it. Being a Nazi is what is our primary issue with Musk here in Europe.

Or people not in uniform seemingly. Easiest time ever to actually kidnap people: Get your thugs together, get a van, kidnap your target person from the street, while yelling “shut up, we are the police”. Outcome is essentially the same
Also they might just deport you to some concentration camp in El Salvador for having the wrong tattoo and who knows if you can get out of there ever again. I wouldn’t trust anyone saying “they would never do that to tourists” at this point.
Well, you won’t see me entering the US anytime soon.
Article 7 now! How much more “breaching of EU values” we need to see for something to be done? 😐
I hope not, but now Slovakia might jump in instead though.
Article 7 exists. It allows to suspend voting rights of a member state, if all other members vote for that. So far the EU is hesitant to use it, but as I see it, it is about damn time.
Fair enough. But maybe there were also people that were brought in by Google, that actually stayed after Google left again? Well, I guess it’s hard to say 🤷♂️
Every time someone brings up xmpp and how Google extinguished it, I wonder if xmpp afterwards was somehow worse of than they would have been if Google never had embraced it. I don’t know, but my gut feeling would be that Google mostly just extinguished whatever they brought in in the first place and in that case EEE would be harmless. Am I wrong? If so, please explain.
We can also have fun without watching the 2034 world cup 🙃
Seems such a weird edge case to me. If I pay for a search engine you can rely on me using it as my primary search engine. And I search the Internet daily, and certainly monthly. So this change wouldn’t help me at all
I mean, yes it is. But how is that “technology”? 🤔
Nowadays I half suspect any tech CEO to have some questionable mindset (to say the least). So it seems more important to me, what the company actually does. I hope everyone complaining about Proton now also does not use Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, Apple products, and the list goes on. Their CEOs are definitely a lot worse.
Now imagine naming a social media platform after a letter of the alphabet 🙃
I agree. Not thought about it a lot, but there should be some way to use your ID for stuff like that without telling every service out there your full personal details.
I’m optimistic that it will happen eventually. The EU generally is moving with stuff like this, even though it is slow as fuck. But well, let’s see, not promising anything…
