Tried this recently and I hate it. It makes a racket and no matter how careful you are with it it stinks. Plus the constant extra work of filling it up. I’m selling it off and getting a heat pump. Should have done that from the start tbh.

I feel like jokes are a reflection on the people making them, based on their own experiences and biases. Jokes also need to be rooted in some kind of reality we all agree on in order to subvert and become funny.
A dumb joke about cats not wanting toys still tells me the owner has no idea or doesn’t care. And I’ve met these owners many times before. So many people see their pets as furniture and understand nothing about them, their personalities or their needs.
I’d say Sarah doesn’t know much about cats or is just lazy.
Cats love toys, but it needs to be engaging. They love their pray to feel alive, to move, to hide. A crumpled up piece of paper on a string tied to a stick works wonders. That means the owner needs to participate, but most don’t. Also cats are crepuscular so for maximum success keep play limited the evening or morning. You might be surprised how much of a hunter your cat actually is.

I use Kemphor by Verkos Laboratories an independent Spanish company and Ohlala by Ohlala Laboratories Paris, a France based business as the name suggests. I ended up using them because they both have toothpaste containing Xylitol, an ingredient that helps in killing bacteria, something that the megacorp brands obviously don’t care about.
I find Gemini has better communication and comprehension ability compared with assistant, but can do even less when it comes to controlling the phone. No reminders, no calendar events, no messages, no integration with anything. Just talking.
I would have preferred assistant talk and understand better, instead of a completly gimped alternative that does that and nothing more.

It’s still there for me, called Fediverse Forums. It’s a lens you can disable or reorder so maybe you did and forgot about it? It’s also different to Forums lens which doesn’t seem to include Fediverse for some reason.
Has had it for a while and can easily be toggled between normal search and lemmy search, forums, academic, pdfs, etc. It’s glorious.

I’ve seen them in the mountains or more wild areas multiple times, both in eastern and western Europe. You have to be outside during the night so most likely camping.

Spain had smaller presence on Reddit as well. They tend to keep to other spanish speaking forums, often shared with Latin America.
Basically because there are so many Spanish speakers in the world, spaniards don’t even bother to learn English or interact with the broader internet.
It took 10 years to meet anyone that used Reddit. I assume it’s gonna take another 10 to meet anyone on this platform.
Honestly, joining a community just for the type of content they have or what they filter is useless. Best approach for me is to have access to everything and then filter what you don’t like by yourself.

I used it until recently thinking the same, but it just became too broken for me. I’m on thunder now and I got it to work exactly the way I used sync and everything seems to actually be working.

I specifically remember looking up tables of who defederates from who and what instances allow NSFW or downvoting because this was an issue among some of the top instances back then.
I ended up making 4 different accounts over 2 months until I landed on a server I’m happy with. That will never be acceptable to any normal user.
Every time someone brings up these issues, people here downplay them like you are doing it right now and nothing is ever done about it.
There was a long time of that happening and everyone being blisfully unaware. That’s the period that feels like the golden age to me because we were getting all these new cool and free services not fully realizing what we are paying.
