I like how almost everything we do now is in response to things going to shit.

Lemmy - Reddit went to shit

Linux (Desktop, anyway) - Windows went to shit

Piracy - Distribution and pricing went to shit

Jellyfin - Plex went to shit

Emulation - Nintendo, mostly…

Matrix - Just in case Signal tries anything… switchblade

normal people can’t just… grab a single board PC and… install Linux on it! What are they supposed to do!?

edit: my cousin and his wife came over about four months ago and saw we used a keyboard and the TV was just a computer and he went “why the fuck haven’t we just done that?”. He doesn’t know know Linux, but he has a Steam Deck and got by alright.

Two camps

1. They don’t know any better.

2. People voting and believing political opinions with their gut instinct
