  • Some science is just

    1. Well this makes sense in my head, so ill experiment to check and prove im right.
    2. Huh, weird results, not what i expected.
    3. Trying again with different method/testing criteria/focus
    4. Still not what i thought, why is this happening?
    5. Oh thats cool, it turns out that X is actually happening and its because of some completely different thing i had never considered before, how exciting!

  • And not to mention:

    • Plastic waste
    • That stupid glue/adhesive that may/may not come off the card easily
    • Remembering to bring it to the shop of the off chance you may go to that store
    • Remembering to use them before they expire
    • Using the whole amount without overspending to cover the difference
(Even people leaving behind a couple dollars or cents on a gift card is just straight up profit for a company)

  • Oh no, this WW3 we are going to get tockets developed with ‘AI’ controls, which inevitably run off course due to their vibe programmed co-ordinate control and are launched by AI threat detection models after falsely detecting a credible threat by a world leader spewing nonsense on social media and accidentally nuking every major city or food bowl on the planet.

There are a good reasons for this:
Inward opening doors pull air into the bathroom area and both contain the smells and germs, (the opposite is true for outward opening doors) but also bring additional fresh air in.
Doors that open outwards into hallways (where public access toilets are most commonly found) is a huge hazard to people passing the door.

Not to mention foot pulls and automatic door openers are becoming more common so you dont have to touch the handle as often.

Lots of newer public toilets (at least in australia) are designed with an s-bend entrance to eliminate doors completely (however require constant exhaust).
Toilets in commercial buildings often have ante-chambers where doors open both ways into the chamber so you have to touch a handle regardless of direction of travel. (Common in offices and hospitals)
