  • Homicidal ideation does not always equate to wanting to live with having killed someone, and a lot of these people are closer to normal than they realize until they are facing potential consequences for their actions. I would posit that killing oneself after doing something so heinous is one of the saner outcomes.

A lot of people experience “fucked around, found out” immediately or shortly after they cross a line, before anyone else has a chance to tell them they fucked up.

  • Oh, so you’re certain that OP even tried to lookup a service manual, and that there’s not one available? Endoscope and the right screwdriver together are still cheaper than a new blender.

Ever heard of a teardown? Go watch some on Youtube or Peertube. You won’t find many that fail to disclose the manufacturer, that break the plastics, nor will you find many, if any, blenders that use a more common screw-head for the motor shaft.

… but sure, pontificate on behalf of targetted rage-bait that actively discredits this community versus anyone with an ounce of experience or common sense.

I deal with worse than this Blender on a daily basis, or rather I might, if the internals of the devices I work with weren’t behind literal lock-and-key, and yet, NONE of them are left un-supervised with your standard schmuck, their CHILDREN and pets.

HIDDEN screws, glues, DRM and fragile tabs are indeed a real problem. They are major reasons we need service manuals and “guitar pics” and all sorts of other non-sense that inspired the Right-to-Repair movement. OP’s Blender has NONE of those things.

  • The only hope I see in it is the idea that humans will survive, and even a few of them will still mean well/have morals, ethics, sincerity, conscience, or any self-awareness … things that make the continuation of the species something resembling a good or even okay outcome, as opposed to an outright blight upon the universe.

The amount of suffering portrayed is of little consequence to this, as we have plenty of suffering historically and in the now. Very, very few of those suffering the worst seem to prefer not existing, outside of the affluent countries, and I don’t accept value judgements on such things from any but the first-person perspective.
