I grew up watching WW2 movies and the Nazis were never shown as being anything other than Bad Guys. I would love to know how anyone grows up here in the U.S. and doesn’t know that.

Equilateral triangle. All three sides are equal length and it has three interior angles that add up to exactly 180 degrees.
There’s a couple of YouTube videos where urban explorers re-visited Chernobyl many years after the accident. They explored the area around the plant and visited the hospital where Russian firefighters were taken after they were exposed to debris from the reactor’s core.
Their clothing was seriously contaminated and was removed and stored in a room in the hospital’s basement. The explorers visited the basement where the clothing is still stored today. They didn’t get close to the clothing because it is still contaminated. As in, “not safe to enter the room” contaminated.
I’m seeing this on YouTube, as well. I’m interested in gaming and entertainment, but in the last couple of months, I’ve been getting absolute right-wing dipsh*ttery in my “Recommended” list.
It feels to me like YouTube is trying to rage-bait users into engaging in this trash, even when those users have shown no interest in it.
LISTER: What makes you think these aliens exist?
RIMMER: They must do, Lister! There’s so many things that are strange and odd. So many things we don’t have any explanation for.
LISTER: Like, um, why do intelligent people buy cinema hot dogs? Do you mean that sort of weird and mysterious thing?
RIMMER: No, Lister, I mean like the pyramids. How did they move such massive pieces of stone without the aid of modern technology?
LISTER: They had massive whips, Rimmer. Massive, massive whips.
Oscar the Grouch is a scavenger.
The Appalachian mountains are full of hillbillies. THAT’S the scary part.
Cows? NO!
Coconuts? YES!
Hydrogen? Maybe.
Naming your child is serious business and both parents need to be fully informed.
“But the planet is still there.”
Check and mate! I feel so PWN3D. You see? If you don’t mind not breathing, carbon dioxide isn’t so bad after all!
Using AI lets scammers target hundreds of people at once and choose likely candidates for a pig-butchering scam (rich, dumb, vulnerable, etc). Once the AI finds one, it passes the phone number on to a human scammer for further exploitation.
It’s like the old war-dialers that would dial hundreds of people and pass along the call when they got an answer from a real human being.
Some Forbes op-ed writer: “But household income is keeping up with inflation!”
Yeah, if you consider that “household income” now includes the income of the wife and kids as well. A few decades ago, only one person was needed to be a wage earner. Now, everyone in the household needs to work to maintain that standard of living. And that’s why our quality of life is declining.
When you’re a centipede, EVERY day is Leg Day!
Now ask yourself if there’s any real, physical proof that Zeus, Thor or Anakin Skywalker ever existed.
I still have a Reddit account but I stopped posting anything to it a couple of years ago. I only use it for a few niche things I can’t find anywhere else, like r/SamsungWatchFaces
Imagine the balls it takes to take user-created forum names and register them as trademarks.
And this graphic is from the Holocaust Memorial Trust? Well, isn’t that just exploding with irony?
DuckDuckGo is down for me, right now.
I still have a few niche subreddits that I check a few times a month (like /SamsungWatchFaces) but I haven’t posted anything there in ages.
Slavery never went away. It just became more profitable.
