Rule of thumb is 1x at 30, 3 times at 40
As investments get larger, they reach a “boiling point” where they build up much quicker.
This rule of thumb is meant for someone retiring at age 65

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are people speculating that the most recent Trump assassination attempt was fake?
972·1 month agoTrump was seen as having an electoral boost after the Pennsylvania shooting.
Trump is in a deep hole with the electorate over the Epstein files, the economy, the Iran war, and support of the genocidal Israeli regime
Trump has used very blatant & underhanded tactics in the past, from the 2020 electoral certification Coup attempt, and the recent doordash PR stunt.
There will always be some amount of people who will not accept things at face value, but with Trump, experience has shown that waiting for evidence before believing what the administration is saying is a wise move.
TL;DR: a lot of sketchy crap happens in this administration and people think anything that might turn out well for Trump’s voter polls is manufactured

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it actually annoying when clients fall asleep while getting tattooed?
101·1 month agoEver have a bad headache & decide to go to bed? I’ve had headaches that were more painful than getting a tattoo. If you’re getting a large enough tattoo, you’re relaxed, and the setting is comfy enough, I could see falling asleep a bit.

31·1 month agoI’m sorry if it came off that way, but I was not trying to be critical of your idea at all - I was trying to see how many people would be impacted, and I think you could easily get away with limiting the amount of inheritance even further.
I think being a worker gives a person perspective that is critical to their development, and no one should inherit or be given enough money that they never have to do any work in their life.
Not only does unrestricted inheritance directly cause the development of a disconnected wealthy class, but it’s also bad for the people who inherit too much.

21·1 month agoI was interested to see how the numbers would play out for this idea
According to https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/median-household-income-by-state the median household income for a single person is $41,382 in the United States. 15 times that would be $620,730
According to https://wealthvieu.com/average-inheritance/#average-and-median-inheritance 92% of inheritances would be well underneath this amount
Assuming that your limit was meant to apply to individual recipients and not to the entire estate, this seems like a pretty modest proposal to me.

8·2 months agoI’m not very handy, so grain of salt here:
I’m thinking that the gasket you have isn’t the correct part (even if the third party says it is). I would double check the dishwasher model number, ensure you have the right gasket for that, and then order OEM if you were previously correct.
I think if you glue in the gasket, even if it holds, it would likely leak somewhere from not properly fitting.
