Same reason Elon Musk’s Tesla lies about anything - it’s a grift. They got carbon credits for pretending to have battery swap capabilities, and they suckered customers into buying overpriced vehicles by telling them that they’d drive themselves.
My point is that all of these technologies are actually coming to pass years later.
They did a demo of this exact thing in 2015, possibly faked, then verifiably lied and said that nobody was interested and never rolled it out.
