It doesn’t have to be like that. Sure, context is important, but parroting phrases or other crap that the client has in the RFP is bullshit. They don’t want you blowing smoke up their ass, they want a technically sound product that addresses the exact issues they asked you to address. They also want you to show them how you’re going to get there, and achieve the objectives they set out.

I realize you’re on the tech side; I’m just venting my frustrations with the corporate/PM spheres.

I have a visceral reaction to words like elucidate, and other fluff. My writing has to be very to the point, and technically accurate. Because of this, I carve up drafts from juniors like a Thanksgiving turkey.

That said, we are a chill bunch. I’m probably one of the spiciest people in the instance, I would wager, and I welcome our vegan friends with open arms.

I get wanting a safe space, and you are, by all means entitled to that, but I’m a proponent for health discourse and (respectfully) challenging established norms.

This is my experience with CBT. It was fine in a way, to recognize my feeling, but it never dealt with them. Only when I found a therapist who worked in CBT and acceptance based therapy did I start to improve.

I write monstrous documents (hundreds of pages). Zotero is all I use. It’s ridiculously simple and you CAN SHARE REFERENCE WITH OTHER PEOPLE SO THEY DONT HAVE TO ENTER THEM.

This might not seem like a big deal, but I can get junior to prep a doc and share reference, or just enter references for me before I start writing and it saves a pile of time. Further, I can call references that my colleagues have entered.
