That’s a problem with infosec.pub instance, not with the post.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your opinion on websites blocking visitors from specific countries (geoblocking) for personal or political reasons?English
4·4 个月前“For personal or political reasons” means as a form of boycott or similar. Not to stop hacking or other abuse, not for legal or cost reasons, but just because of personal animosity towards a country.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your opinion on websites blocking visitors from specific countries (geoblocking) for personal or political reasons?English
32·4 个月前This makes sense for a website for a commercial service. This question is more about personal blogs, FLOSS project websites, or other similar websites that could be equally useful to people from all countries.

World News@lemmy.world•Credit cards cancelled, Google accounts closed: ICC judges on life under Trump sanctionsEnglish
70·4 个月前It’s not just cards. Many banks today require using a mobile app for online banking, and those apps require an Apple- or Google-certified device and an Apple or Google account. While it is possible to open those accounts under a false name (the apps are free so you don’t need to enter payment info), this is still an absurd amount of leverage the US has on everyday people’s activities in other countries.

5·1 年前I won’t say that they really have separation of church and state until they remove mentions of god from their currency.
Also, the fact that this even became a state law just shows how backward their society is.

World News@lemmy.world•Iran extends ban on dog-walking for ‘public order, safety and health’English
24·1 年前Banning abortions is also a religious absurdity, and a more dangerous one. After all, no one died from not having a dog.

Iran officially bans dogs.
US doesn’t officially ban dogs, but a cop can enter your home at any time and kill your dog. This is entirely legal, and the cop won’t be punished.
I don’t know which is worse.
