Having been to the supermarket recently Reese’s does in fact sell fourth of July “limited edition” peanut butter cups. They aren’t firework shaped though. They are just taller.

12·20 days agoI’m down for being annexed just please
- Don’t be a country seriously considering electing Nigel Farage or the local equivalent
- Be careful how much you annex or you will get #1 eventually.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Femality is stored in the nipplesEnglish
8·24 days agoThere is a funny set of furry sculptures in the middle of Golden Gate Park that have very plainly been subjected to modesty rules. The end result of this is that the male subject is only allowed to have nipples when he is wearing pants.

I am pretty sure at least one of these is not in the same thread or they have been reordered

World News@lemmy.world•A Russian ship likely carrying two nuclear reactors, possibly destined for North Korea, suffered a series of explosions and sank in unexplained circumstancesEnglish
6·2 months agoThe reactors were bound for North Korean subs giving a potential motivation for the South Koreans. The Spanish claimed evidence of a supercavating torpedo strike.
Also the Ukrainians are rarely this mysterious when they blow something up. They are openly at war with Russia and thus don’t need to be.

World News@lemmy.world•A Russian ship likely carrying two nuclear reactors, possibly destined for North Korea, suffered a series of explosions and sank in unexplained circumstancesEnglish
9·2 months agoUnfortunately paywalled. Is this a delayed report on the one which was hit by a supercavating torpedo off the coast of Spain a few months ago or is this another sunk russian ship with reactors bound for North Korea’s submarine program?

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Nouveau PeasantEnglish
4·2 months agoPart of the issue is because a lot of people aren’t literally in shanties it’s hard for people to recognise that poverty is becoming quite remarkably bad. The poor have electricity and internet now and I think its screwing with our brains. The other major factor here is that a lot of homeless people live in their cars rather than shanties which makes the issue less visible as cars look more expensive than shacks and tents and parked cars are ignorable. The average quality of living for people at the bottom is better than the gilded age but the income and quality of living divide is terrifyingly vast and it’s not improving.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Steam lawsuits in a nutshellEnglish
15·4 months agoThere definitely is some amount of expenditure by valve. I don’t know if its 30% worth. For multiplayer games they provide a server/client DDOS protection and traffic optomization service though it is opt in by the developer through an api. The other option for this tends to be a “contact sales” priced product from cloudflare. There is also some of proton’s development, some linux graphics driver work, and workshop support though I suspect hosting and content moderation expenditure there is fairly minimal.
