Whoa, this is so good it’s almost like actually “scary”
I’ve got a trans flag pfp, feel more comfy in girls clothes, like being feminine, and I wish I had been born as a girl. Definitely still cis though (˶˃ᵕ˂˶).
It’s weird to not be weird. Hate only the hateful.

What is going on with the t in still? It almost looks like a cross between a t and an f

Dude clean your phones camera lens, it’s super smudged and it’s making the screenshot all blurry

A lot of people here are saying that it’s difficult and takes a lot of time and money to get started. It doesn’t. I learned how in just a few days, and I’ve been hosting everything on this shitty computer from 20 years ago that I got for free.
Seriously, it took me just a few days to go from absolutely zero knowledge about self hosting to get about 80% of what I know now, the other 20 is just neat tips and tricks I’ve learned in the past year and a half that have made the experience smoother.
Now, I host almost every service I use, the only exceptions being YouTube and steam, and other general forums for when I look things up.

This looks… suspicious

Hahaha I love this shit

I’ve always used it on mobile and never had issues, so I’d say yes

Ahhhh, I see I see, yeah it is definitely weird, if possible I’d recommend just using Firefox

Ethical tldr is just a git repository that’s hosted on codeberg, so any issues would be with them, not ethical tldr

Oh and obviously you can also remove gcc if you don’t want it

And thank you for reporting the issue!

When you get a chance, let me know how the new version works out! If it’s still breaking, send the logs again like last time.

It is indeed a big difference! I believe I have fixed the issue, I’ve just released v.1.8.1 with a couple of other improvements.

This is good info, can you give me the output of echo $LANGUAGE? According to the logs it seems like it’s breaking during the parsing of that variable.
If that proves inconclusive, I might also make some custom builds for you to test with, most likely I’d just be adding a bunch of extra debug logs to pin point where things are going wrong.
Edit: I’ve been able to reproduce the issue on my computer, I’ll let you know when I fix it!

Ah, one other thing, is this error happening when you’re trying to install cldr? Or is it only when you run cldr? If the latter, run cldr with the command DEBUG_LEVEL=-1 cldr [whatever other args you want], it’ll print a log of the steps it’s taking, so I can figure out where in the code something is broken. If the former, try building the project from source, or getting the prebuilt binary from the release.
Additionally, does this still happen if you download the binary from the release? Opposed to following any of the steps in the Installation wiki.
PS: I’ve been editing this comment a bit, so just to make sure the edits were federated, lmk if you see this part of the comment

Did it provide any error messages?
You can try installing gcc if it’s not installed already

Hmm, how did you install it? Did you build it from source? Or did you use one of the prebuilt binaries/packages?
Most likely, if it isn’t working now, it still won’t work when I release v1.8

Re: local pages as opposed to always downloading them Thank you, that always bothered me about tldr - always wasting my time.
100%, it’s so slow. And tbh, my comparisons with the speed of cldr are also being extremely generous (in favor of tldr), by only comparing the speed of local page reading. If I were to instead just compare the speed of choosing a random command that’s never been accessed before, cldr would likely be 2000-4000 times faster, since it usually takes less than a millisecond to run, whereas tldr can take 2-4 seconds to fetch the page.

I’m glad you like it! Keep an eye out for the next release! Today (or maybe tomorrow, or some other soon day) I’ll be releasing v1.8, which is gonna have some awesome features! Namely, reading settings from a config file!
In case you don’t know, KDE does that
