For the people on the streets it doesn’t change anything, but it’s weird how little blame Erdogan is getting here.
No matter how much I dislike Musk, I don’t think he’s giving that much choice. Erdogan is a dictator who has the power to block X altogether. A real free speech advocate would not succcumb to the pressure of a repressive government, but the article does imply Musk is not the initiator of these bans: “Musk himself said that “the choice is have Twitter throttled in its entirety or limit access to some tweets.” He said X would publicly post the Turkish government’s requests.”
Not saying we shouldn’t put Tesla’s on fire tho.
What if the plot isn’t about locking up the opposition leader, but about luring out his most vocal supporters? It is much easier to keep anonymous civilians in jail, as opposed to the leader of a movement. I feel like just locking up Imoglu is just too stupid a move to make.
Sometimes now before i finished reading the headline I assume it must be from the onion or some other satire source, and until a second later i see it is just real news. The world got so unpredictable lately.
O right, there is a massive amount of Kazachstan in between them :x
I upgraded my free account to mailplus last year, still not really sure if i need any of the premium features but what convinced me in the end was the thought that the reason I am used to free email is because i chose to pay with my data. I trust proton they won’t make money of my data, so i feel like i owe them money to keep my email working.
So many comments about them starting a new political party and I don’t want to disagree but if democrats already have less votes than republicans now, wouldn’t that make it even harder to win an election?
I’m thinking if there would come an end to the war in Ukraine soon, other countries bordering Russia better have their shit together.
Quick poll: if your country would become inhabitable because of climate change, where’d you prefer to go?
I want the EU to support the protesters, but I can also see this validating Vucics rhetoric of there being a ‘hostile takeover’ organised by foreign powers.
I know you’re being ironic because that is for sure the real solution, but we’re in a too dire a situation to just focus on fossil fuels.
That’d be true if both parties would actually want what they say they want, not if either party is untrustworthy and has a record of breaking agreements.
Why? I just signed up, quite happy with them.
You only lose money if the customer would have paid for it otherwise.
Totally agree, not a fan of apple but the content on Apple TV+ is straight bangers.
Even if 99% of them are actually gang member, then there is still a bunch of innocent people locked up. Using the word ‘accused’ or ‘suspected’ isn’t meant to cause doubt, it’s to make clear they haven’t been convicted. I really wouldn’t want to be falsely accused and treated as these men are, and it’s really awful knowing some of them could be there without having done anything wrong.
