Yeah, health insurance companies are bad. At least one of their leaders is dead now, so we’ve got that going for us.

Even if we changed the laws so they have to stop the bad stuff they’re doing now, that won’t repair the damage done and they probably won’t have to forfeit their ill-gotten profits. Health insurance companies should be dissolved, the leadership barred from working in the industry or government, and all the related assets and wealth seized.

I feel like … the general rule should be if the state fucks up and wastes someone’s time and money, they have to make up for that.

Belief is social. If you’re surrounded by people that all believe a thing, you’re more likely to also believe. If challenged on something that threatens group membership, your brain reacts like it’s a physical threat. Group membership is that important. Facts matter far less.

This happens to everyone.
