I didn’t see them say that FLAC wasn’t lossless. When I do see someone say that, they’re usually confusing lossless with uncompressed. FLAC and ALAC are lossless. No one can say otherwise. I have my entire library as uncompressed AIFF because o have the storage and I can always compress if needed.

If you’re dead set on getting a new guitar, get the one that makes you want to play, as another user mentioned. Some people say the Tele can fit any style. I’d argue that any guitar can fit any style, especially when you factor in tweaking your sound with amp and effects settings.

If you’re on iOS, the app BookPlayer works well. When you choose to add files, you can choose from a media server, including both Jellyfin and AudiobookShelf.
I’ve always liked Plex/Plexamp but have been using Jellyfin more lately and found Finamp to be pretty solid. I just wish it worked with Apple CarPlay.
I switched all my daily use PCs to Linux in 2004 and haven’t looked back. I did have a Plex server running on Windows 10 for about a year but even that has moved to an unRAID server.
I think the company is less of an issue than the school who even considered this to start with.
