Dictators and hyperinflation, name a more iconic duo.
SF same as LA??? Have you been to either? Scale. LA is huge. SF is a tiny city. Weather. LA has nice weather. SF has four seasons: windy, foggy, ok, rainy. Always somewhat cold. Food: LA is so much bigger and has much more to offer. SF has good food if you can afford it. Vibe: in LA everyone is nice to you but doesn’t care about you unless you’re rich. In SF no one cares about you. Architecture: suburb vs Victorian suburb.
Ah yes Boston the capital of assholes.
(Surprisingly, when I lived there, I thought people were very nice)

Half the shit on Amazon is used or open box now anyways. Might as well get a discount and get it on eBay, Craigslist or other cursed marketplaces like FB or Nextdoor.
Please make her stop having Scarlett Johanson’s voice as well
I only see the angry man giving you side eye
Can someone put these on cats? You know what I’m asking for:

Jaywalking scum!
Literally crossing the street as humans have done since the street was invented, ruined by cars taking over in the 1900s

Someone needs to read the Dyson Sphere paper: https://archive.org/download/dyson-1960-search-for-artificial-stellar-sources-of-infrared
(The paper was written as a sarcastic take on SETI sinking money into frivolous research of extra-terrestrial intelligence.)
Didn’t the guy who discovered carbocycles dream of a serpent biting its tail rolling around chasing him and the next day he was like, shit, hydrocarbons can probably loop around too.
Seance coding is the new vibe coding. Get the ouija board out! Add stickers to add a few characters like ±();&?!|.

Well sorry to be rude but fuck their tip. If they don’t want fair wages then they’ll get unfair customers, like me.
This is how I tip. If I get asked to pay before being served food or beverage, no tip. Coffee shops, fast-food places, bust your table places. No tip. Ever. Sorry.
All the other places, 15%max. The restaurant’s junk fee gets deducted. Sorry. I’ll fight for your living wage. I won’t fight for your tip.
I mostly eat at home anyways so it doesn’t matter.

(I didn’t read the article)
Bandcamp + Jellyfin is an amazing way to build a digital library. Bandcamp radio has a lot of radio like episodes, daily, to discover new music. Pitchfork is another place to discover human music but YMMV. Your library might have a service promoting local artists and their music. Something to check out.
I can feel this in my bones…I love how the animation never matches the sound though. The tada is always unexpected
I wish they would merge the two options: “I’m annoying and not interesting and I don’t like it”

Hate the game, not the player

I think that a lot of companies are seeing a regulatory capture opportunity mixed with a very limited ressource (orbits) meaning they can lock out the competition by being the first one to do it.
It is easier to do stuff on the ground. Always. However, not having to deal with neighbors, cities, activists and representatives of thereof who complain about the impact of your data centers on people’s livelihoods is an opportunity. The FCC is in the pocket of SpaceX and other space companies. They don’t really care about impacts on astronomy, ozone layer, the atmosphere and the whole of the biosphere that needs dark nights.
Free sun energy is a good bonus.
But if you can be the first to deploy such a constellation and occupy all those sun synchronous orbits on the day/night terminator in low earth orbit, no one else can, giving you a monopoly on activities in those orbits.
This is the hype. That’s the promise. That’s what they want to sell VCs to get their money. The article highlights with numbers how unreasonable this endeavor is.

Maddy, the main developer of Celeste is trans. Not that it matters for gameplay on a platformer but the main character is canonically trans as well. I don’t even think it really comes up that much in the story line. It shouldn’t matter.
But because of that, I such a gem of a game is banned in countries that would execute you for being trans.
39? Like the nazis were nice and respectable before 1939?
Should say at least 1933 for when hitler got appointed Chancellor. 1920 when the party got formed. 1924 for the beer hall putsch. Maybe 1938 for the Kristallnacht.
